uh if you titen to hard..i remember someone saying the bolts might break off

does anything get harmed by tightening your lugnuts beyond the recommended torque setting?
My setting is suppose to be 83 torque(ft lbs?). but my mechanic/friend tightened my lugnuts ridiculously tight. I even stood on the wrench trying to loosen them so i could then retighten them with my torque wrench. i gave up. i plan on leaving them, if thats safe and ok, until i have to rotate the tires.

You can also warp your rotors. Take it back to the mechanic and tell him to tighten it by hand.
