Well my Celia Stalled 2 times today. The first time I was driving and started making a right turn I stepped on the clutch and started braking. Then it happened while I was turning the Car stalled. I had no power steering and no brakes. I almost hit the Median and a tree. luckly I pulled as hard as I could and got the steering wheel far enogh to miss the curb and sh!t and started the car again. The second time I came to a stop at a stop light and it stalled again. Is there any known problem that would cause this? I don't have a CEL or anything so I don't know what it is.

Yeah, only yesterday for the first time ever, when i came to a stop and was in neutral, the RPMs went way low...to like 600 and the car started shaking and felt like it would die. I revved the engine to keep it alive but didn't think anything of it. Then, approx. 10 min. later, it did the same thing again, but not as violent. Two occurances in one day for a new issue. I was kinda iffy about it. <IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm25.gif" border=0>

Try tightening all of the hose clamps on the intake. Also, check to make sure all vacuum lines are connected. When I had my stock air box on, the people who changed my oil, also check the air filter. The air intake had became loose and was causing a leak. After I tightened it, no more stalling.

When was the last time you got gas? Same station as usual?

Was there a big weather change lately (really humid and a good cold snap).

It does kind of sound like bad gas, or a little water in the tank, but it could be a million things...

Didn't think about that one.Try putting some STP gas treatment in the tank or something along those lines. Always look at the simple stuff first.

I have never had mine stall, but I have had the RPM's drop really low a number of times!!! What I usually do is just rev it up a bit and forget about it, since it has never stalled. I don't think that it's the gas because I try and get it at the same station everytime.

Try restting your ecu, that's what I did and I haven't had the problem since.

I've been using the same Gas station I've always used. how Often does the Fuel filter need to be replaced?

The only thing really different is that I reset the ECU last weekend when I disconnected the battery to do an Install.

I do have an Injen short ram intake and I'll check the connections on it but I don't think that's it.
What is the TSB for the GT injectors all about does anybody know? Could this be the problem?

Thanks

Actually, this appears to be a COMMON problem. I have a CAI on my GT-S, but this idle scare problem happened to me before I put in the CAI! I still happens to me occasionally 6 months after I bought my car. My friend's GT is stock and has been doing this since he bought it 5 months ago. It seems like a real problem!!!

Same with my GT but it never stalled. I just tightened the throttle cable and it can help sovle the problem. Besides i love the new tightened throttle its worth the few minutes it takes =]

PS Dont idle it to high either.

Yea, it's a common problem, happened to my car twice already. Anyhow, i read somewhere and someone said that the problem is with the IAC (idle air controller)...something like that. It gets shot or something so take it to the dealer, explain to them what's up, and they should replace it under warranty. I have yet to do mine still but i should be thinking about it as well.

Like someone already said the idle problem is VERY common. I had it happen to my GT-S numerous times, and before that it happened to my Supra. I'm not sure what's causing it. Anyway, the car stalling and idle point floating up and down are two different things. If your car just died on you, try checking your battery clamps. One of them might be loose and this might cause your problem. (It happened to me).
In any case let us know what the problem when you figure it out.
