anybody ever try this?

i know it's probably a dumb idea, but has anybody ever tried putting a 4 wheel drive tranny fron an All Track onto a zz engine in our generation celica? i know that it would involve a lot of customization w/ the suspension and the drive shaft and rear end, and countless other things, but has it ever been attempted?

They should've just made the celi rwd or awd with a turbo.

sorry for startin a useless thread, but that's a 7th gen celica w/ a 3sgte engine conversion w/ the 4 weel drive tranny. i was wonderin if anybody ever tried puttin that 4 wheel drive tranny on a 2zz engine.

nobody that i know of has tried this. im about 100% certain that it cant happen. this is why...the All-Trac tranny has the transfer built into it, so its one huge piece that wraps around the entire engine almost. you would need an adapter plate that a few inches thick to get the 2 to mate up. thus making other important things not line up. like the driveshaft

now the good news is the same thing can be done with the MR2 turbo tranny and keep the car FWD

Thats mounted to a 3S-GTE!!!! not a 2ZZ. thats what hes is asking about.

Nah, you don't need the lottery to get the engine, just to put it in the car, I have the transmission from an SW20, sitting in my garage in the hope that one day the adapter brackets to mate it to the 2zz will come about
