Just got my celica gts about 6 months ago. Recently i brought it in to the dealership to check a check engine light that happend to be for a cylinder misfire. They also did a compression test and found that there was a significant loss of compression. Anyone have this happened to there engine and how? Is racing the car the cause of this? But why make a car with vvti if u dont use it

No it's not caused by racing...if you never go way above redline by mis-shifitng your chances of bending a valve are very very slim, no greater than with any other engine IMO. My car races, legally, every weekend during the summer and spends plenty of time bumping off the rev-limiter when I do it and my compression is good and the engine is fine at just short of 44,000 miles. If you are stupid enough to participate in illegal street "racing" I suspect you're a poor enough driver that you'll quickly mis-shift and blow the head again.
