I've had the nx efi stage one kit for awhile but haven't really used it. Right now I am using the n2o jet at 31 and the fuel at 20 because i heard that 18 may not be enough fuel, and im using 92 octane right now. Anyways I go through a few gears with my 35 shot and after i let off the gas and let nitrous disengage, it backfires for like 30 seconds after. It not loud backfiring its alot of little small pops. Should i be running octane booster, or is this normal? I'm not going to use it till I get some info from you guys. Thanx, Mike :thumbup:

backfires happen when you have too much fuel, have no cats, or have too much fuel and no cats...

basically there are enough unburnt hydrocarbons in your exhaust for your exhaust to burn as soon as it meets atmosphere (oxygen)...

If NX says to use an 18 size fuel jet i would use an 18size fuel jet... they kits are already set up to run rich at normal bottle pressures (900-1k) and i believe your car also raises fuel pressure the closer you get to redline (so it even richer there)

raising your octane will not solve your over richness problem...

Thanx, I just read in alot of posts that guys with a gts are running the 20 jet for fuel just to be on the safe side. I'll go and try the 18 tomorrow.:thumbup:

Thanx for the help guys, but i figured the problem out. I don't have my nitrous pressure gauge yet so i was guessing that my bottle pressure was sufficient, but it wasn't. Today I got my bottle heater install and I left it on for a good 15 minutes before i used my n2o. After a couple of runs I didn't get any backfire! I must have had to low of bottle pressure, too much fuel for the amount of n2o injected.

For anybody getting a kit I highly recommend a bottle heater.
Oh yeah nitrous is the shiznit, I'm addicted bigtime!!!!

BTW if your bottle press is low.... it will run really rich causing backfires... trust me I speak from experience
