Why not just take it to the dealer and let them replace it under warrenty? Or is your warrenty up?

That sucks! I got mine replaced under warranty 'cuz it was vibrating and turns out it was loose. The Toyota dealership told me they had a Service Notice that the belt tensioner would loosen up and have to be replaced. (These were on the 2000 models. I'm not sure if they fixed the issue on 2001+)

didn't someone just post some of the TSB's somewhere on this board? If so I bet he posted somthing about the belt tensioner, you should try looking at that. It should tell you what to do.

edit: NM here is the link http://www.radphys.com/ARTICLE_TENSIONER_REPLACEMENT.pdf

Thanks for your help, I am definately looking to do it myself so any instructions would be incredible. Any idea on how much a replacement tensioner would set me back, Im a poor college student! But the sound its making is driving me crazy so I must do something soon!<IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm36.gif" border=0>
