is the TRD japan LSD the best LSD out for our cars? thanks pc

and whats the diffrence between a clutch type LSD and a helical type LSD? which one is better and who makes it? thanks

I think you need to decide if you want clutch type or helical type,

one uses gears to transferr power (heilical)
the other uses clutches(clutch type)

I'm getting a KAAZ LSD put in my celica end of this month, it has 6 clutch plates opposed to the TRD USA 4 clutches, it also has about 15% bigger friction surface on the plates than the TRD USA, i dunno the spec on the JDM LSD, but its probably one in the same, I think other companys make the clutch type LSD.

There isnt any Clutch type LSD from TRD USA. Only TRD jdm manufactures it.

Well noone can answer you which LSD is the best, unless they have all types installed on the car and test it on a road course...
Just have to pick one and try it

thats true, but i can see how they like theres. nohing to lose by asking. ya know.:thumbup:

helical is more aggressive, clutch type isnt as aggressive in some ways, helical you never have to change, clutch type you have to change

helical... no clutch packs to wear out quaife warrenties thiers forever even if you race it

helical is nice if its your daily driver, I hear clutch type is better for races because you can change the clutch pack when its warn out and it will be just like new again while the helical type just gets not as effective as time goes on. Its all preference.

yeah but life time warranty against defects, a warn out LSD while still working is not defect and warranty will not be honored. Until it become open differential it will probably not be warrantied simply because it is still working... I am not sure but peps who has it should check on that.

are you sure its only on defects, it also states will cover even if you race it, i think its a full coverage, on everything
