I took Keyshawns post on http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43611 and did a little photoshop comparision of the 2 dynos.

Look at the HP gain throughout the powerband. At 2500RPM, there's already 50% more HP!

Keep in mind that those dyno figures are:

1. On a JDM ECU tuned for 100 Octane Gas.

2. Dyno on 91 Octane Gas. I usually use 93 or 94Octane.

3. It can be further tune using a S-AFC on a dyno.

4. Improvements with a header + downpipe will be significant.

5. Dynoed on very heavy 19" rims and tires.

Considering all of those factors above, an additional 20-30hp can be obtained! The 19" rims alone robs at least 10-14hp. This kit is as reliable as it get!

See that spike/drop after VVTI-L? I suspect the low octane gas and AF ration. The kit is still rough around its edges, but once you work out the kinks, it'll rock. How's 220+ to the wheel sound to you, with power starting from 2000rpm and retain almost stock MPG fuel efficiency?

if you do that equation, the torque numbers are highest between 3500-4000 rpm, the highest i got was 153 ft/lbs, but i couldnt calculate it very accurately because the dyno graph isnt very exact.

Exactly. Just imagine, everyone, having far more torque at 3500-4000 rpms with this s/c than we do now when we hit lift. Now that is awesome, usable power when accelerating out of turns and great for real-world driving conditions on the street.

That could actually be true. Jackson only uses Eaton blowers. In fact, they have exclusive rights on the use of Eaton blowers in Honda aftermarket applications (IOW, no other manufacturer can buy Eaton units in bulk to resell to the Honda market). Since Toyota uses Eaton units on the V6 supercharger apps, its possible they have a similar deal with Eaton (and/or Magnussen, the disti for Eaton).

Notice that the Blitz kit uses a different type of charger. If JR was willing to use a different blower, they could do something, but they seem pretty content with the Eaton setup.

Hell no, write them and/or Jackson racing. Adn they've give you some BS response about how tRD has all the "rights" to make a superchager

BS

they just don't wanna do anything for our car.

Good point.

Well if you want to be more precise, with the aide of digital image enhancement, at 2350 rpm, it gained approx. 17 hp. That is ~40% gain.

Now keep in mind that the base dyno was with stock 16" rims and the 19" is almost twice as heavy.

I stand corrected by saying that 50% gain at 2500rpm more realistic.

ho wmuch are they askin for the sc again...if i remember correctly wasnt it like 5 grand...thats alot of money for 60 hp

1500 i thought

yeah I was still hopin for a lil more hp though

Just wait till someone drives the car with all that added torque. It'll be like driving a different machine altogether. I wouldn't worry too much about the HP just yet, first step is to fix the huge lack of torque in the 2ZZ. That'll provide the biggest difference and the most improvement for that car.

when i do get back on my feet and save the money i think that ill just stick with either the xs or eip turbo.By the time I save up they should be released(prob a year)

Yeah, more peak HP would be nice. However, Blitz is emphasizing reliability and possibly CARB smog-legal certification over all-out power. You may not break any records at the track with this SC, but you'd have a VERY quick street-car with it. Low to midrange hp/torque and above all, RELIABILITY, are FAR more important for a streetable forced induction kit than peak HP. Remember, it doesn't matter what kind of peak HP you make if you end up blowing up your engine because of it.

Those who aren't satisfied with this can always look into the EIP kit, Turbo Performance's kit, and (for peeps in So Cal) the XS kit. All of these systems can deliver more power than Blitz's S/C for a similar price point (5-6 grand). However, these turbo kits may not be as thoroughly tested and definitely aren't CARB certified.

Remember, there is a very low limit to the amount of boost and HP a 2zz w/ stock compression ratio can manage and still be relatively reliable. How long did Sport Compact's 2zz-powered turbocharged Matrix last again? Something like 6 months? With only a mild 7 psi of boost, and tuned pretty conservatively, 11.5:1 still killed it.

For people that want HUGE, RELIABLE forced-induction power gains with a 2zz, spend the money to beef up its internals and drop compression. Otherwise, get used to the fact that low-boost and modest HP gains are all it can handle.

Oh i know what you mean...Reliability is definatly an issue.I have enough prob with my car already. The eip kit does have an option with all forged internals. But didnt someone say that that was like 11000 installed...whew thats alota dough:AF:
