I'm running 215/45-16 Falken Azenis on the car this summer, I find them to be better in the rain than the RE730s were. Love them so far but I don't expect to get more than about 15,000 miles out of them, especially with my alignment set for autocross. I think they were $106 a tire.
For an all-around good tire in that price range I'd be looking at the Kumho 712s. We run the 712s on my wife's car and I've never had a complaint about them. I wish I had purchased 712s for my car instead of the RE730s, I almost certainly wouldn't have replaced the 712s half ways through their life.
It's funny, I found that the RE730s were worse dry traction than the stocks, downright scary in the rain, and the noise was literally unbearable. I will give them one thing though, they wear like rocks, I think I put about 20,000 miles on them with an autocross alignment and they were only about half to 60% worn. To be honest I liked the stock Yoks, probably the best stock tires I've ever had on a car.
