video engine rattle, not liftbolt?

ok i edited this, thread. the noise got to loud so i can actually record it now. and its not from below its comming from the charger, engine,or starter. still not sure what it is. it sounds diffrent than a broken lift bolt. heres the video.

you only hear it start at 3.7k rpm and less around 4.5 k rpm. my friend in the car was revving it up and down as you can see. any ideas. unfortunatly i dont want to move the car now, since it sounds really bad.

If they think its a rod bearing why not drop the oil pan and find out? It isn't difficult.
first off, find out how much they want for the job. maybe i can beat it. and i think a 10:1 compression on the S/C will be awesome, just tune for it.
hey smay i thought you said you dont tune??? or do you have someone up their who does??? either way if it is a rod bearing/piston failure would it be ok to drive it all the way up their? well next week they should lift it and take off the pan and see what they find. when they give me the price ill go over it with you. if theirs any mentioning about dropping the engine, for sure ill look into having someone keep my car for a while and mod the hell out of it. probaby get that storker, cams, TB converions, ..... and other stuff recommended done to it.
it's in your valve train. They are hitting and causing that rapid tapping.
^^ just saw your post, hmm interesting. i actually picked up my car today, saw no progress and the dude was moving his shop. they checked and its not a rod bearing.

he told me its either the tensioner pulley that came with the charger or the alternator.
he said for sure its not moto/engine related. i got an appointment with some other tuner wendsday @ 4pm. so ill get a third opinion, and ask him about what you said.

thank you all.
I was just wondering about this this very morning.
I may be a lil out there... been known to be...if it's there w/o the belt... maybe timing chain or VVT actuator noise? Have you checked the chain tension?
Sounds kind of like a tensioiner hydraulic cylinder rattle or a bearing for one of the idlers. will it duplicate with the belt off the car?

If it duplicates with the belt off then check what 2Way said - maybe try to snug up the chain tensioner a tad - see if its stuck or something.
yeah me and my friend took the belt off and we couldnt hear the noise. we put it back on and there's the noise again. only around 3k rpm. i hope to god its the alternator, because if its not it has to be the charger!
and with all the fame the charger has been getting its hard to say its not.

when i ran the car with no belt , the charger was still sucking some air, and the noise wasnt there so i am pretty sure its not the charger.

either way i feel a bit better, and WILL base dyno run it tommorow on a dyno jet, with the base map greddy charger. if i get anything under 200 i will be pissed!
sounds like a tensioner rattle to me. Put a stethoscope on the little piston for the tensioner and see if thats where its loudest. If its one of teh bearings you shoudl be able to take the belt off and spin things by hand and feel that one of the bearings is hosed.
In that case, I'd be suspicious of the tensioner, too. Many possibilities... noisy idler pulley bearings, tensioner, water pump, A/C pump bearing, alt bearing, noisy brushes in the alt, etc. I thought you had said earlier that the noise was still there w/o the belt. Oh. well.
dude it was, we took off the belt a couple weeks ago, and it was there.
so when the dude told me they took it off and the noise was gone, i thought he was BS'ng me since i remmember taking it off and it still being there.

thats why i took it off yesterday to find out for my self, and this time the noise was not there with the belt off.

this **** is so weird.
