Don't forget that drag is also dependent on air density. Lowering the car increases the density of the air you're operating in, increasing drag.

Regardless of my misquote, you didn't answer the question.......why does lowering your car 2 inches CHANGE air density?

For the same reason going from Denver to Death Valley does...of course, in this scenario, it's negligible.
