Im in the middle of looking for anything tps related in the repair manual but honestly i dont even know where to start. I need to swap it out and have no clue on the procedure. It has to those 5 point tamper torx so should i let a technician handle this one?

ok so i remembered all about the search thing. So can someone confirm that i dont need to adjust tps sensor for my 02 celica gts. I was at the mechanic shop today and they wanted to charge 2 hour labor for this replacement. I was like what for? so I decided to go back and find answers here. So is it really plug and play with this tps (reset ecu of course)?

I can't help with the TPS info. I just know to leave it alone. What are your symptoms, though? Seems awfully rare that someone wants to replace it. Makes me wonder if they know what they're doing.

Clean the MAF properly - use the Search function - with MAF cleaner. Get some quality fuel system cleaner (I use Techron). Check/replace fuel filter.

If they reset the codes have them read it again. The FIRST code in the system is the one that's important. Someone who knows something about it will chime in here soon.

Good luck!

thanks for those threads 2k. It helped clarify some things. Now I did read in some other posts that tps didnt need adjusting on celica. I just want someone to say "yes im 100% sure you dont need to"

I realized why the shop said it was going to be a longer job. I have easy access to tps with my injen CAI. :D

TPS is fixed in place. No adjustment required on the Celica. The ECU calculates the idle position.
