Carbon Fiber Hatch Handle received!!!
Woo hoo! I just got it like 10 minutes ago and opened it up..
first off, its not perfect.. but then nobody said it would be. The clear coat is scratched on the surface in a few places making the shine a little dull. not noticeable unless you look at a certain angle.
and the top part isn't completely flat.. i dont know if this is going to be noticeable when installed but basically the backside of it has two things where it looks like its supposed to connect to the car.. i guess it was in order to make this fit like a replacement rather than a overlay. but because of these pieces that were added, the left side has a bump that goes up if you look at the handle straight on. It probably rises about 1/4 cm from the rest of it.
there's also a tiny hairline crack on the 2nd 'C' of the word celica.
all in all it looks good.. real carbon fiber.. my cf hood isn't perfect either so i guess it'll just match it..
Didn't come with any instructions but hopefully some instructions will be available online soon.. Came with basically two bolts already attached and 4 washers which i figure are used w/ the bolts..
as always, no pics no mods.. so hopefully i'll have time tonite to try to install this bad boy.. and take some pics for you all.

Thats why I'm glad I waited on this...$165.00 for a small peice of cf with blemishes on it is unacceptable to me.

i agree- totally unacceptable. i thought fiber images made this part- and it has all those blemishes???

I am hoping to have a completed install guide soon. I have write up but I have to take a few pictures. Its really not that hard. I'm sorry that everyone has had some bad experience with FI, and as many of you guys know so have I at times. But honestly they do make some really good pieces. I honestly think that the reason why this has been such a hassle is because this product was never meant to be put on the market. It was just my constant harrasment of FI that actually made this piece into a product and not just a prototype. I will personally make sure that if you guys order FI stuff from me that I will take try my best to give you guys the best customer service I can possibly give.

I cant wait to see pics of it Chizzy. I really think its gonna look badass with your setup. Maybe a bunch of us that are gonna receive it complain about it so that way only 10 of us have it. hehehe...just kidding Richard. Maybe others will be different. But it doesnt really sound all that bad. If you think about it, if its not TRD would it be perfect?
I wouldn't pay more than $20 for something you described.

To be quiet honest with you guys if you guys really are not satisfied with this piece and FI can't make it any better then this maybe the only set that I'm gonna get. This piece has caused me so much hassle and I don't want this product to cause Newcelica members to distrust me or the company that I represent. I really hope I can find an easy fix for this cause I really like the piece.

It would be nice to only see a small few of us have these things. That way others can be jealous of us when they see it.
I wouldn't pay $165 for something the average person probably would barely notice and then point out I'm an idiot for paying so much for it. Sure it looks good...but I'm going with everyone else..not worth $165.

I'd have to agree 165 for something like that NOT in perfect condition isn't cool. For that price you could probably mold something that just as good if not better.
