Hello people,

Just wondering what makes up the extra 15hp differential between the celica gt and corolla? Also, from your perspective, do you think that these parts will be interchangeable? Please explain if yes and no. Thank you!

Regards,

Hector

hmmm..
98-02 corolla's used a different intake manifold, throttle body, header, and different parameters on the ECU (all equals about 15HP)

03 corolla's so far to my knowledge only have a different header and different parameters on the ECU

I've heard that intake manifolds are interchange, but you'd need the throttle body probably also. I hear the header in the Celica won't quite fit the Corolla because of extra bolts or something.. or maybe clearance issues.

I think someone did a Celica GT ECU swap on www.vvti.net too, the topic is in engine modification forum.

If you look at the Injen and AEM dyno charts for CAIs, you can see Celica and Corolla hp and torque curves. There is no 15 hp difference. Both motors are close in output.

The only problem with the Exaust Manifold is the placment of the O2 sensor.
Also the TB is much smaller on the rolla.
