There are 4 types of stock headers used on 7th Generation Celicas. 1 on the GT and 3 on the GTS. To clear up any confusion, here are they are plain as day. (in case anyone has a terminology bug up their butt, Header = exhaust manifold)

The original picture links in this thread were no longer Valid so Jason (Illusive) spent a lot of time and effort and has now re-created it better than ever on our discussion forum and website's tech info section over at www.DDPerformanceResearch.com

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but whats this 'air injection' buisness all about?
Its a new emissions system that was introduced at the end of 03. It has an electrical air pump that blows fresh air through the manifold into the head right into the path of the exhaust stream. It operates during cold starts when the air fuel ratio is very rich in order to help light off the catalytic converter faster and to prevent hydrocarbon loading of the cat. Its purely an emissions system - no performance benefit at all.

how does the air injection hook up inside of the header itself? do you have any pics showing where the inlet to the header tube is? what considerations do you have to take when porting a header with air injection?

Jeez barber calm down bro - I will answer your questions :) - Its my 10th Anniversary today so I've had other things to do :D

Anyways porting is pretty much the same, I just have to be careful to plug off the air injection holed while i'm porting so I don't get a bunch of metal debris in there.

As for teh rest of it, iIf you need to know faster than I am telling you just subscribe to http://techinfo.toyota.com for a day and check out the engine section of the 2004 Celica New Car Features book

Boosted2.0, properly something you already know but here it is...

Just so you know all '03 Matrix Xrs' do not have the air injection system, only '04 Xrs' and up :).

Yeah I saw that the other day when I verified the exhaust manifold parts numbers - the Matrix got the air injection after the Celica did by a couple months.
