Celica into a Lamborghini

5645 Views 76 Replies 44 Participants Last post by  Mistrimeat
I remembered one day that I let one of my friends drive my car, we stopped behind a clean truck (hard to find those in this part of the south) and he saw the reflection of the Celica in the truck and said "It almost looks like a Lamborghini from this angle." Then today I was looking at pictures of the Lamborghini Murcielago and came up with the perfect thing to do to the Celica. Here it is. Switch from the five seater into a two seater (take out everything from behind the front seats), rear-mount a bigger, better engine (like the V12 from a Murcielago) and also have it rear-wheel drive (goes without saying) and finally convert those tiny back windows into giant vents to get air to the engine. I think this would be a lot cheaper than getting a Lamborghini which I believe is over $200,000.oo I don't know because I couldn't find the price in USD. Of course if you use a V12 than it wouldn't be that much cheaper but like get something like a Chevy small block, but then gas would be a b!tch.

Anybody have any idea how much it would cost to do this, minus the price of the engine since that is chosen by preference (hypothetically, just wondering, I can't do because I'm poor, just interested, please no comments like "don't waste your money" or "use that money for something better" just comment on the performance aspect, how it would make the car better/worse)?

I'm still in disbelief that you guys are actually discussing this. I'm not knocking this kid for having an imagination, but get real.

Here's a tip though, in the future when you have ideas like this try posting it in the Newbie forums, most of the people who post there are under 18 and tend to come up with similar "ideas" ;)

and i'd advise you to stay out of OT for the next couple of years :chuckles:

Are you smoking crack or are you 14 years old?

no honestly, are you on drugs? it will not cost $80k to turn your celica into a lambo, maybe even more plus downtime. You might as well just go buy your lambo.
Why does everyone assume drugs are the cause of these people being idiots? He's just an idiot.
Urbanek they got your ass now!... :hide:

people don't get lambos and ferrari's just because its super expensive, they are super fast, and they look super nice, but because they also get to screw some super hot models.
Anybody can make a rusted old el-camino faster than a viper, with enough work. But like timm3r stated people dont just buy cars for the speed, Pu$$y is a very motivating factor whilst shopping for a car :chuckles: .
i know lots of guys who own lamborghini's, and they dont buy them for the putang; unless they are small men, and i dont mean pecker size.

this idea has popped in my head a few times, but it's much cooler to dream of attaining a real lamborghini than a kit car.

when your a little bit older, and your mind is out of the fast and the furious scene, this dream of a real lambo will be much more entertaining.
Just get a pontiac fiero and convert it. a lot easier and cheaper
^^If you don't mind it stalling out from the added weight

I don't think some of you guys realize how much a RWD and rear-engine conversion would cost...
depends on what kind of parts you use and the time n patients you got someoen did do a rear engine conversion on a honda dont know where i saw it but i imagine it didnt cost too much or else he wouldnt of done it

Age? 17, sheltered by parents until recently so I don't know that much about the real world.
FVcking rich kids. This is the stupidest idea ever. The 3sgte has been done and ran 10's , but it's more than your can afford, pal. :chuckles:

Here's something more realistic, upgrade your internals, get a turbo kit with pfc, tune around 400+ whp, do some weight reduction and there you go. Lambos run around 11-12's stock.
well, i've had people ask me what it was when it's parked at night- they think it's def italian. or maybe they're just stupid?!
instead of attempting all that, just get an elige or elise and turbo it. best $50-60 k you'll spend and it'll smoke just about anything under $150k.
Well, the Celica does seem to have a slight italian influence in design, the body style is probably why 90% of the forum bought it, but it's def no lambo.

Just get this and be happy. Im sure if you had the power of a V12, you will kill yourself. Plus, it has 2 player action.

I wonder how long it will be until he posts "Where to put my Lambo emblem?"

Ya he got banned but what's wrong with ed?
yeah flame him all you want, a rear engine conversion wouldnt be 80,000 if you knew what you were doing and knew how to fabricate metal mounting parts. But then again he is 17 and there is a 99% chance he doesnt have those skills. Either way its not worth it, just buy a car that is rear wheel drive. Your best option is to move the interior of the car back about a foot and put the camry V6 engine up front and keep a stockpile of good tires because you would burn through tires like crazy.
why don't you just buy a old 240 and put a rb23 or a sr20det in there and you got yourself a pretty mean, drifting machine. But honestly why do you want to drift? is it because you saw the fast and the furious and it got your hopes up that you can some day drift?
I said drifting because of what I read, I always looked down on movies because of how they make nothing "real-life". When I drive I like to hug tight to those corners but sometimes it is fun once in a while to pull up that handbrake and swing that rear around. I never seen any F & F movie for two reasons, all movies give out false information, and because I never thought racing was fun to watch, just fun to do. Also I think some of you guys are thinking that I am serious, I rather spend my money buying a new car. And I don't have any fabrication skills but my brother does it for a living and he has many other friends that do it as well. I think some of you think that this was taken seriously, it never was, just starting a conversation, nothing else. You know what. I'm done with forums, I'll just keep on talking with my automotive enthusiasts friends instead of people that comment to things in such a negative fashion. Also when I said "what wrong with drugs" that was the beginning of a joke which ended with "they taught a lot of American kids how to use the metric system."

Good bye to everyone.
