Do our cars cut fuel or ignition or both? Looks like the EMU can only fix a fuel cut limiter.

I still can't understand why the EMU needs the stock ECU signals - it has direct control of the sparks and fueling - but I suppose they'd need to get their knock-sensor software working first.

1ZZ/2ZZ uses a fuel cut revlimiter. The Emanage needs to be wired into the stock ECU so it can send it the confirmation signals its expecting. Otherwise, it would store DTC's and light the CEL. It may even go into safe mode but Im not sure about that.
Probably throw a rash of P030X and PO13XX codes.
What sort of confirmation signals do you mean? Surely the ECU stops firing the injectors and just assumes the engine will stop accelerating? The car is pretty much guaranteed to be in open-loop if you're banging into the limiter without a downshift.

Yes, the ECU could tell that the car isn't slowing but it doesn't throw a CEL if you drop into 2nd at 66mph - the car just revs like mad!

From reading the EMU docs, it sounds like the EMU will just run the same injector pulses as it was running a couple of hundred revs below the factory cut-off. This is a bit crude, but should work, shouldn't it?

actually i totally forgot to download that for mine.. but the car has hit another boo-boo i haven't actually touched it for the past 2 weeks. Going to play with it once i get it on the road.

The new software fixes the knock sensor bug on the EMU too.. i couldn't get it to show up on the old software but that was the same with two other shop cars that are running EMU. Will try it and hopefully get the knock to work on the EMU
You're running the Greddy s/c aren't you? Is the knock sensor even on our harnesses? I know the deleted the temp sensor wires, and I thought they'd removed the knock sensor as well :shrugs:
