I like the beach in the summers. I like all the outdoor festivals and stuff in the summers. I like the low altitude and 93 octane gas. After that...I've been having a hard time liking anything else about this place.

Pros- nice downtown area. if you ever on a airplane departing, you'll see how beautiful the city is (can't really describe it in word). lake shore.
Cons- parking space, uptown = kind of trashy, traffic = but ain't as bad as in Cali, more......

Chicago is probably one of the best cities...has lots of things to do plus it is a lot cleaner than New York.

Pros: Downtown (best skyline IMO), tons of clubs, tons of resturants, shopping, misc. entertainment

Cons: Lonnnngg winters, city parking

Oh I forgot, Chicago actually has some pretty interesting history, and if you're into architecture, museums, and theater, it is a great place.

What bums me out about Chicago:

Endless suburbs, the suburbs just suck in general, far away from wilderness, lack of cool roads, far away from good skiing, horrible attitudes of most of the people.

#1 rant: If you want to live somewhere cool, good luck parking your car and not having it ruined/vandalized. You can get a garage, but you better be lucky or rich to be able to afford it.

:werd: I live about 40 minutes from the city and I usually like it under different circumstances. I used to go to the city for school and that totally blew. Commuting with trains and busses for me was a nightmare. On the other hand if me and my friends are bored we'll just drive down there and do nothing and I have a great time.

Another thing I like about this city is how nothing is overlooked here. If there's a band on tour, there's a great chance one of it's stops will be in Chicago. Stuff like that. Once I turn 21(in Oct.) I know there will be even more options.

I really enjoy Chicago...

Pros...
Public transportation is so complete that if you don't want to drive, you don't have to.
Waking up to a view of the lake is awesome.
Good clubs and bars.
Lots of interesting people.
Hot girls.
Good cultural stuff.
Lots of close universities so you can go to work and school.
Great restaurants.
You can smoke everywhere. (even in burger king)

Cons...
I worry about my car if it is parked anywhere except my garage.
Rent is a grip.
Going out is expensive. You need to account for alcohol expense every month.
Import shops try to rip you off.
Winter is the worst.
Roads suck.

I just love the summers there. However, thats the only time ive been. It seems like EVERYONE is outside and its just so Alive! The forest preserves are packed, ppl walking dogs, picknicking, rollerblading, jogging.. Then my sunday dusk cruise on lakeshore (that was really cool!). Its so nice to cruise out there when theres not too much traffic, sun is setting, and weather is nice and warm!

Pros:

Museums and Cultural Outlets are top notch.
Summer Festivals (Taste of Chicago, Air and Water Show)
Easy to Navigate
Plenty of restaurants catering to a wide variety of cuisines
Plenty of things to do (even when there's snow and the temps are 10 below)
Public Transportation

Cons

Infrastructure (Roads) still need work (One study said that IL was 48th)
City Stickers are $75, License Plates are $78
Suburban Transit (pace) stops running too early in certain areas
Is still considered one of the most segregated cities
