I'm considering getting these after the holidays:

http://www.wheelsnext.com/default.cfm?action=dspWheel&MODEL=EVO5&color=HYPERBLACK

The 225/40/18 set comes with ZENN springs and mounting kit.

I've tried to search for Bad Things in the forums about wheelsnext but haven't really found much to be worried about. Do you guys have any warnings?

I plan to keep these 'free' springs for a while so my car doesn't look like a 4Runner, then later get coilovers. One step (and batch of money) at a time.

The site says free mounting and balancing, but I'm not sure how that works. If they are shipping them to me, where do I go to get this done? I wrote them last night but haven't heard back yet.

I've never bought aftermarket wheels before, so any advice you guys have would be great!

it means they'll mount the tire to the wheel before they ship them, and balance them tehre. All you'll have to do is put them on your car. Oh, and some minor suspension work to get the springs on the struts. But that's easy, shouldn't take you longer than an hour, a case of beer, and a Jake saying "Is it done yet?"

Save yourself some trouble. Those wheels look a lot like a set of bronze 5Zigens that Ben/neological has for sale. Except those come with better tires. The $$ you save on the wheels can be used to purchase a set of used lowering springs. MUCH better way to go.

persoanlly, I don't think i'd go over a 17" rim. Especially driving between MD and PA.
My wife has 18 inch wheels, (30 high!) Pirellis and we've only had to replace one tire, but that was because she hit a pothole about 4 inches deep during road construction.
