I installed KYB-AGX's & Tein S-Techs about six months ago. About 2 wks after install I had an alignment, rotation and balance. Ever since shakes at about 70 (3 additional rebalances) and slight drift.

Today I noticed the left rear of my car sits about 1/4" lower than the right and everything in my hatch is evenly balanced. Checked rear settings (thru cutouts) and left on 2, right on 3. I don't know where the setting indicator is in relation to what I could see, so I tried to set the left to 3 to what I could see...the freaking knob fell off . So I set right to 2 to match left. No change in the stance and still shake and drifts.

1. What could be causing the stance problem?
2. Could this cause the shake and drift?
3. How to see the indicator on the rear shocks?
4. Where the he!! to get free knobs?

Sorry to be long winded.

I had Firestone do my alignment with my car having KYB-AGXs and Eibach Sportlines. No problem, and I don't have any shakes or drift.

When did you notice the height difference? Maybe the springs are just defective or not uniformly manufactured...or when they broke in, one compressed more. don't know???

sorry I know I didn't help...but wanted to respond to get the post to the top again so someone who knows might respond.

I need to get adj. knobs too since the shop didn't install mine. will try KYB.

Are you sure the rear springs were installed correctly? If the ends of the springs aren't in the grooves on the spring mounts, the car could appear to be higher on that side.

I also vote for defective springs/installation for the ride height differences.

Shaking is likely a defective tire/out of balance tire or rotor, and possibly something loose in the front end (do you feel most of the shaking through the steering wheel?)

Drifting couls be that same bad tire, the ride height thing or some other alignment issue.

Switch the tires from left to right and see if the drifting follows the tires.

Well I'm taking it back to the installer tomorrow. He's a Toyota/Lexus certified specialist and does a ton of mods for ppl here. So hopefully he'll discover the problem quick and not charge me much. I love my whip...but it's becoming a money pit! :ugh:
