I read that for the CAI to achieve maximum airflow, it should have the least number of bends on the pipe. In other words, a traight pipe will allow more airflow than a pipe with one or two bends, all other things being equal. If this is true, then why do all after market CAIs for the Celica have at least 3 bends? Is it the tight space in the engine bay of the Celica that leads to the multiple bends? I think a pipe with less number of bends can fit into that area with slight modification. Would a pipe with less number of bends results in more HP gain? Thanks for your comments.
