Hi guys. Im a newbie and was just wonderin what the diff was between an sx and zr. I am about to buy an sx but the dealer couldn't tell me if it was a gt or gt-s. It's a six speed manual so does that mean its the gt-s? Thanks.

Yes if it's a six speed your getting the GT-S, ask for model code ZZT231
dont euro spect GT's have a 6 speed too?
Thats what I was worried about.. I couldn't remember if they did or not.. I know UK ones are all 6spd, I don't know if they changed is australia

Also they don't use GT/GT-S over there. Theres base/T-Sport and GT, gt being like Grand Touring.

ALL Celica's in Austrlaia are GT-S's...

The difference between the SX model and the ZR model are that the ZR comes with ABS brakes, Side Airbags (as well as front air bags), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Sunroof, red/black interior trim+seats and the JDM door sills... other than that the rest of the car is the same.

If you are buying used usually the ZR model and SX model cost about the same, so safety wise (ABS + Side Airbags) you are better off getting a ZR

G'day mate!!! well the SX and ZR ahave exactly the same engine, VVTL-i outputing 190hp, both got Lift, and both have 6 speed manual tranny or 4 Speed auto.

Difference is only cosmetics, and some interior package (such as leather seats, 6 speaker, drilled alumunium pedals for ZR), or exterior kits (ZR got better wheels and come with wings/sunroof).

I'd go with the SX, and keep the $5000-6000 difference to get aftermarket parts.

Probably should have mentioned that in your first post then. It was late, so you get some slack. ;)
