quick question,how do i keep my negative battery cable from getting that wierd crap on it,it's always on where the cable conects to the battery.

Take the leads off and clean the terminals and the leads. You can purchase a protective coating at any auto parts store, apply and you're set.

You can just coat the terminal the generates the "weird crap" with a thin coating of grease. This will prevent it from forming. :)

Hey guys just another point while we are on the topic of dirty batteries. Make sure that the top of the battery is clean...buildup of dirt on top of a battery causes a draw on the battery. I know, I know, it sounds strange. I didnt believe it either, but if you get a voltmeter and just touch the leads to the top of the dirty battery, youll get a reading. Clean it off and touch it again, and no reading. Just a little-known fact id thougt id share. ~GM~

if you put some white lithium grease on the negative terminal it will keep it from happening
