Maybe it's good for you to know that retrofitting an HID kit into a lens or projector that was designed for Halogen bulbs will not yield the result that a purposeful OEM HID gives, because light properties are inherently different for the two.

Seeing this ebay offer the first impression I get is they are selling HID colors, most people are apparently very fond of the nice color effects of HID. Very few are really concerned about light quality and illumination. Many of these companies are just capitalizing on the fact that people think the HID looks "cool". So the low price isn't really surprising.
When I think about a good retrofit HID kit, I know it will never live up to OEM HID standards, but some companies actually put some work into their kits and it shows in the price. Like booya said, you get what you pay for. My 2 cts

They're so cheap because they're a cheaply made no name brand. Lots of people have had problems with no name HIDs and even some of the lesser name brands out there. Philips/Hella seems to be the most reliable, though you'll be shelling out around $400 for a kit. Another alternative, if you're looking for better light output, is the H7/H9 hybrid bulbs that DanielSternLighting.com is selling. They offer almost 30% more output than stock. Not like those "30-50%" more light bulbs from Philips or Sylvania, we're talking 2100 lumens vs 1500.

I got them at this store http://www.rallylights.com/. I called danielstern it took him close to a week to response.

The bulb is alot brighter than the stock ones I had. I had the H7 Osram 55W.

I definitely vouch for what you guys are saying, you do get what you pay for. That's why I'd figure I'd ask and get knowledge from others so that I can make a wise decision.

Would you say that this is a more legit purchase for what an individual would be looking for to make a real hid conversion kit?

Thanks for your input,

^^^yeah that seems way more legit atleast it has a brand name.

I think everyone buys these for the color and the blinding light output! lol but they are the best mod ever until they burn out. I had a buddy who's lights would warm up and blink when he had his alarm installed. Man what a pain it was to see that everytime the alarm activate you burn out the ballast and waste the hours. Not like they last forever. I can spot H.I.D's a mile away its like turn it down a notch. I love OEM HID headlamps that you can adjust the beam up & down another plus side rather then using the OEM headlamp or retro them. Not sure if the Celica has that control but the STi can control the horizon level and it's not a cheapy system pretty sweet!

Someone should swap an STi's projector in OEM celica headlamp with the controller so you don't blind people left and right.

what are some of the best companys to buy hids from?
Do you want to spend extra money for reliable HID or want to save money by buying generic brand HID??

It's not matter of where you get, it's best to go with OEM parts if you want reliability...
To get realy warranty for HID, you have to get it through dealer parts departs, but they will cost you arms and leg...
So you are stuck with eBay who sells OEM parts or like me or other people who sells OEM parts...

Good quality OEM HID kit would be Denso(Lexus, Toyota, Mazda etc), Matsu****a(Infinity/nissan cars), Philips (Europe cars), Hella (Europe cars) etc.... I think Osram(not sure which car it comes with, but I do have Osram HID also not for sale)

Only problem with non OEM HID will be reliability and getting them underwarranty...
Seller can say 1 year, 2 year.. even lifetime warranty... how do you know for sure they'll be around that long....

I also sell non OEM HID kit, but only way for me, is to build up my reputation to give better sevice... making sure that I'll be around for long time....
