Are the cai's sold on ebay just as good performance and durability wise as the $300 brand ones? I've seen mixed opinions on other forums on the subject but I would like to hear your opinion and experiences.

It seems to be popular here on the forums to buy an ebay kit (BOMZ racing i think it was?), throw away the filter and buy a brand name filter. ( I heard good things about apexi filters ). I personally chose to go K&N all the way (pipe and filter), since all the world knows their name... It should mean something, at least that's the way i perceive world. Keep an eye on the for sale forum. K&N sri intake systems go for 100-150$ here. Great price for great brand.

I have an aem ebay cai replica for 3 yrs now. Had no problems or cel with it. Just make sure u swap out the filter. I used a k&n filter.

I have a BOMZ Racing cold air intake for a month or so now i got it for $60 and it works great, here are some options if you don't want to spend so much money on a intake, here are the links on the bottom. i don't know what your car is model wise so here are differen't models from short ram air intake to cold air, even tho i see no difference in throttle body size from a gt to gt-s.

My $70 K&N Typhoon CAI seems pretty good for the price I paid... Its loud and maybe makes it go a hair faster...maybe...but its louder for sure.

SRI's are all loud, CAI are more deep then loud. but it sounds great either way
