I remember when Pontiac first discussed the Solstice, they "said" they were aiming at a low 2000lbs curb weight. The prototype pics made it look like a hardcore lightweight roadster. Instead it turned out to be overweight and underpowered IMO. :thumbdown

At least it looks pretty good to me. It sort of has that old school roadster look to it. Although I'm not a fan of that cream colored interior nor the massive wheels they decided to slap on. But that's just me...:wiggle:

S2000 = 2835 lbs
Z3 = 2910 lbs
Z4 = 2998 lbs
Z8 = 3495 lbs

Sure those cars have more power, but I believe the engine in the Solstice is the same one that's turboed for the Saturn Ion and Chevy Cobalt, so I doubt it will be long before a higher performance version is released.
It may not appear to be heavy by comparison but you're ignoring it's horrible power-to-weight ratio. I've heard more people that I can count call the MR2 Spyder underpowered in stock form but the Solstice comes in with an even worse p-2-w ratio. Yes it could be "modded" with a TC/SC but then again the samething could be said about any car. :thumbdown

At least it looks nice!.... :)
