Hey guys. two days ago I installed the aem cai on my 01 gt. Last night I was revving it while parked and I heard loud pop, like a backfire, in the engine compartment.

Now when im driving at low speed (5-10mph) there's a rattle coming from the driver side. I slowly revved it in park but no rattle. Only when im driving or coasting slow. There's also a humming sound I never noticed before but that might be the cai.

I checked the exhaust and it seems fine. Checked the intake and its not bouncing off anything. I've been getting the p0420 code for awhile. so im thinking maybe there was too much pressure and busted the exhaust gasket (I hope). Im gonna check the compression first to make sure I didn't bend a valve.

Other than the rattle it runs fine. It just rattles and hums now.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Hey smaay. Thanks for the reply.

The maf is good. I cleaned it a couple months ago and checked it before I installed the intake. The rattle went away on its own. I couldn't figure out what that was. But I did notice the heat shield on the exhaust is cracked around one of the bolts.

I didn't get a chance to check the compression today. Hopefully I can do it tomorrow.

Well I finally got around to checking compression 195 195 165 185. Not terrible I guess. Its weird though. that same cylinder was the only one that had worn barrings when I replaced them. Idk if its related or not.
