What Does Unbolted Mean? Unbolting The Muffler Assembly From After The Resonator? Or Unbolting Everything From The Manifold?
I thought unbolted ment before the muffler assembly and after the resonator.WHITEKNIGHT2000 said:What Does Unbolted Mean? Unbolting The Muffler Assembly From After The Resonator? Or Unbolting Everything From The Manifold?
Let me clarify: What I said was running open header can cause damage.02celica said:If you replace your exhaust after you unbolt the stock exhaust you technically have an unbolt exhaust.. if you wanna see what it sounds like just Unbolt the exhaust at the midpipe flange... its right in front of the rear passenger wheel. Its extremely loud.
Curt705 ive never heard of anybody having problems with an unbolted exhaust before? Could you please explain how it could damage something?
Nope, Kazuma is 2.5" (stock is 2.25") and is mandrel bent (stock is crush bent, horribly at some places). Unbolting the axle back will gain a bit of power in upper RPMs due to less restriction, but not as much as an aftermarket exhaust.02celica said:first of all the TRD kazuma is the same exact thing as unbolting the exhaust at the mid pipe due to the fact kazuma is just a straight pipe.
Yeah but it sounds friggin glorious - I reccomend everyone try it for just 15 seconds or so (don;t drive around like that) just to appreciate the beauty of a 2ZZ in its completely unmuffled glory.LightningRod said:After the manifold = open header = REALLY REALLY LOUD
ive had it for maybe 2 - 3 months and if it does rust through ill just get it patched... and if it happens right before im ready for turbo ill just cut up the exhaust and have a straight pipe from the engine back with a HKS TipTRDoug said:How long have you had the HKS? I've heard they rust out at the top of the muffler can after a while. HKS Does sound sweet though!!!!
I just had a custom set up made. I ordered all my components from Vibrant. All stainless, all two and a quarter inch. High flow cat, 8inch bottle resonator(which I'm either going to change or just add vibrants ultra quiet resonator), two stainless oxygen sensor bungs, and a carbon fibre evo muffler can with a titanium blue tip. You can get borla or other name brand stainless tubing but go with a no name length and it'll work just as well and you'll save about 45-75 bucks. I went with 10 feet, just make sure it's seamless, not rolled and welded.
The guy that built mine did an amazing job, kept everything tight to the chasis and the tip is right in the openning to my TRD rear bumper where it should be, not sticking out a foot like most of the hondas. He followed the stock routing execpt for just a little bend around the back wheel and suspension and straight out the muffler.
It's still got the sillencer in it, it's loud but not too loud and sounds good. Really high end,not fart canish at all. Everyone tells me that it sounds really great, and I have a gt. Gains were really good too! I'll hopefully have some picks soon, hopefully the other resonator will be on and it's quiet enough to run without the silencer, I don't like the look of a silencer.
Thats the E-cutoutWHITEKNIGHT2000 said:I heard somewhere someone was planning on getting custom exaust which can go wide open before the cat when you hit a button and the flaps open. He said he was gonna hook the flap to the LIFT Control so when he hits lift the flaps will open and have open pipes and be loud as hell!!
How would that sounds? Nice or too loud and ugly!?!Thats the E-cutout
