Months and months after the recall for the master cylinder was issued. :thumbdown I'm really hoping that everything is ok. Sigh....Now I have to find time to take it in. I do know what they will tell me though, I need a brake job really really badly.

Hope they do good job this time. Good luck!
is this only for your year?

and.. how did your doctors visit go? the symptoms didn't sound like you had a cold or the flu. but you should rest and drink lots of fluids and take vitamin C anyway since it is flu season.
when is you baby due? you must be so excited : ) they're so cute like up to age... 6 or 7.. after that they're too old to be cute haha
The baby is due in October so we still have a way to go.

yeah it's only for the 2000 Celica.

Didn't go to the doctor today. When I called he wasn't in today.

They're not going to replace your brakes. All they do is check to see if your master cylinder is leaking, I believe. When I went to toyota and asked about the recall, they didn't believe me. I should get one in the mail even though i'm the second owner right?

I know they won't replace my brakes. But I do know that they will tell me I need a brake job done.

As for you being the second owner and getting the notice, I don't know. It all depends if the original owner got the notice and filled out that card to inform them of the new owners name and address. It also only affects cars that were early in production, late '99 to ealry '00. I think if your car was made after 3/00 it's not affected by the recall. I forgot the range of VIN it covers.
I got mine yesterday too. They send it to the original owner who has to fill out a form with your information so they can send it to you.

"On a small number of 2000 model year Toyota Celica and Echo vehicles, there is a possibility that the recess that retains a rubber seal ring, which is located at the end of the brake master cylinder, may be corroded due to an improper cleaning process. In this condition, brake fluid may leak from the seal, or a smalol amount of air may enter the master cylinder, which could lead to an increase of vehicle stopping distance and thus raise the possibilty of a crash."

That's the wording from the notice. I ahven't notice anything wrong with my brakes but it's better to be safe than sorry on something dealing with the braking system. If my brakes can work better after then I'd be really impressed with the brakes on this car.

The earlest opening they had at Toyota City was 4/15. So I have a long wait to see what's up if anything with my car.

Could someone locate the vin number range?? That was i can give it to gary (person who bought my car) and he can get it checked at Toyota.
