??? Fuel Door Release Lever Replacement ???

1937 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  2way
Hello celica family,

I have a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS and my fuel door lever broke off to open my gas door. Does anybody have any idea how to get a new lever put into the car? Anything would help and I don't want to take my car to Toyota because they are going to charge me a lot of money for this to be replaced.

Thanks!!!

You can likely just get one out of a junked celica, it will take some work getting it out however.
I would agree with @actionseeker, There are dozens of junked Celicas, seems pretty straight forward from what I've explored. You will need to remove the rear seats, as you need to remove the back seats first before you remove the bottom.. Odds are its already been done by somebody else, but just in case it hasn't keep that in mind. additionally you will have to remove the trim from the back as well as the plastic scuff plate on the floor, then pull the rug up.. should be able to see the cable there and trace it out....
If it is just the lever and you can't find one:
Toyota p/n 77306-20050 LEVER SUB-ASSY, FUEL LID LOCK OPEN

Not difficult to replace.
