is anyone running 18's on their celica? i just want to know if it grabs the attention of local cops since it's a lot bigger...

Last I heard, according to recon, anything 2" over stock size requires recon.

To address your question: I know someone who had 18's but got rid of them because even forged aluminium 18's are too heavy. It also looks ridiculous.

i like my 17s. i think theyre just right. good balance of appearance and performance. 18s are purely for appearance. seems like a lot of people complain of the ride too.

18's aren't too bad. I had 18's when i first bought the car, but looked overly big to me. Plus they were damn heavy.

I think 17's look nice with a clean drop and some wheel spacers.

I had 18's on my Celica but i was rather disappointed with them. The were too damn heavy for a car like that. They did fill the wheel well up nicely but it wasn't worth the performance hit.

I liked the way my car looked with the 18's I have but I need new tires. The 17's are okay but doesn't look as aggressive. I have seen some guys in the galleries that have 19's, but it depends on the style of the rim.

Noel te37 are frikken sweet. I really wanted a black set myself.

everytime someone says 18s they're concern is about performance draw back, but derrik is a step ahead when it come to hp so it won't really affect it against other gts .

to the ppl who had 18s on there celica that complain about a drop in there perfomance. were those 18s performance wheels ( ie gramlights ) ?

and no...i can't lower it since they're non adjustable springs...but i am planning on getting the c-one coilovers sometime soon. just need to get shipping info and prices before making the decision.

black on white actually isn't my taste i like to be able to see my spokes i guess. i actually wanted just silver, and i got these used so i basically had no choice in color or size. but i can say this much...i like these WAAAAY more than my stock ones.

No, they were not lightweight 18's by any means. I sure as hell wished they were but at that time i was still learning. Now i know better.

it seems to be a lot smoother over bumps...not really sure why. can't say if they turn better since i don't normally make fast turns. and i can't really tell if they dropped my performance. as far as weight goes, it feels just as heavy if not a little bit heavier than the stock 16's never actually weighed them though. so far...i like it!
