You can adjust how close the pedals are to each other (horizontally). The little part on the bottom right of the brake and the bottom left of the accelerator move side to side a little bit.

Heel toe is beneficial for daily driving. It reduces wear on your tranny. My buddys transfer case got busted because he didn't heel toe. Sure he has 400whp but still.

yep... the gas pedal is lower so it's harder. When i first did it, i had to like actually PRESS on the gas pedal if i need it to go up to like, 4k. But in daily driving, i just shift to the gear that i should be in when i take the turn, and then just rev match by blipping the throttle while taking the turn.

Heel toeing isn't really needed in daily driving, i guess you could argue it helps the tranny last, a little, mostly its just for taking turns at top speeds and blasting out of an apex or 30.

i think its plain retarded to rag on some one for learning with daily driving, would you prefer he take it to the track, do it in front of you, mess up and block your smart ass from the best line?

to make things easier its more of a heel ball shift. Sliding your foot up on the brake makes it much easier to get your heel onto the gas. Or with big/wide feet, i do the lazy big toe little toe down shift. Press the brake with your big toe andand blip with the pinky toe side. I do it just to put less ware on my syncros ( but that requires a stop in neutral on the way). In all pretty easy and not as cool as it sounds.

i'll admit i do it in my daily driving, not only for practical reasons, but mainly for the enjoyment of driving my celica. i never intend to autox my daily driver since it's my only car, so i guess i won't be "up there" with all the guys who take it to the track who are just too cool. my mods are modest, after all.

i'll continue doing it in the morning commute as the geek, and not the cool guy, that i am, thank u very much. (and can't wait til i get those trd sways!!)

When I "heel/toe" I keep the ball of my foot(big toe) on the brake and the other end where my pinkie toe is on the gas. This is also a very common way of heel/toeing.

Yup, thats how i do it. Simple roll of the foot sideways for a blip of the throttle.
