Yeah, we were talking about this on supraforums. The thing is retarded. When talking about the intake system of a turbocharged car shorter IS better. You know those little floaty things they make for people who can't swim that go around your arms? What's easier to build pressure in, that or a big inner tube? Same applies for building pressure in a car. Having the intake pipe that long only serves to increase lag. The only way to counter it is to make your piping smaller...which hurts air flow. It's really a lose/lose situation.

Oh, and by the time the exhaust gases have reached back that far they've cooled down significantly. I can't remember the science behind it but I do recall the conclusion that it was more effective to spool the turbo with hotter gases then colder.
