Aight guys. I'm getting the TRIAL kit. I currently have TRD lowering springs, but am planning on swapping them out for a complete suspension kit. Originally, I was going to go with the Hotchkis TVS - however, now I'm worried that since the TRIAL front bumper is so low with that front lip, that the 1 and 3/8" drop provided by the Hotchkis TVS is just going to really place it in danger of damage.

So then I was considering the TRD Sportivo kit which only drops it 1" (like my current TRD lowering springs). But what the heck is the difference between all these individual struts and shocks TRD released and those in the Sportivo kit (new ones are red, Sportivo ones are blue)?

Do you guys think the Hotchkis TVS 1 and 3/8" drop will really make my TRIAL kit liable for damage vs. the TRD 1" drop? I mean, 3/8" is not that big of a deal.

HELP!!!

TVS and the TRD are 2 very different kits. The TRD is perfect for street use and occasional track, the TVS is home on the track but not designed as a street suspension.

If your car will never see a real track, go for the TRD. If you are serious about performance and will take your car to its limit, go for the TVS. The TVS is also 2x more expensive than the TRD.

Yeah....the track results and components of each kit are so different that it's hard to compare them. I can see that the TVS is far superior. However, like you mentioned, it also has a far "superior" price! Anyways, we'll see how much $ I have in the future.

Has anyone heard how hard the Hotchkiss TVS kit rides?

I don't like to mix and match. If I'm going to spend some serious $ on suspension, then I'm going to go with the best. It doesn't really matter now 'cuz I'm a little bit out of $ after my Trial kit purchase and Zelda Magnum (made by Rays = $$$) rims. Plus, I'm having my fuel door relocated at the same time as I have the Trial kit painted and installed, so I'm saving up for that stuff too. 4 weeks from now!!!!

When you have your four corner alingment and balancing set-up they can configure the TVS kit from mild to wild. Mine is set as an agressive street set up and is awsome on the highways and local streets, justwatch the potholes. Your ride height can be adjusted on the TVS kit as it's full coilovers. Worth very penny I spent:thumbup:

I've looked at Whiteline before, but "The Works" option doesn't seem much cheaper than what WCT can get me the TVS for. "The Works" is $2429 and the TVS is $2700 from WCT. When you're paying that much for suspension, $280 difference doesn't seem like anything. Besides, I can't imagine anything more being needed for a complete suspension besides what Hotchkis provides. Some ppl think that even that is too much.

aerospike2002: did you remeber to convert the Au$ to US$? When I did this the entire kit cam out to US$1038.90 from AU$1735.90. Even including shipping this would be about $1000 cheaper than the Hotchkis kit.
Hehehe... Australian dollars are cheaper than Canadian dollars...
