Very easy. I can open the door in 30 seconds by using a wire hanger. One screw on the bottom of the steering wheel colum. Break that plastic thing off and you have all th wires right there.

damn im definately keepin an eye on my car when im down south..im puttin every lock possible on it as well...(steering wheel, clutch) hehe jk man

The dumbest of thieves would be able to steal a Celica. It doesn't have ANY anti-theft system on it from the factory. No spoilers here folks. I've seen my share of stripped Celicas. At least put an alarm on your car, and maybe a club or something.

There is no definitive way of preventing your car from being stolen, because if all else fails, there is always the tow truck method. But this way, you will prevent most casual theives from taking it for a joy ride, or stealing some stupid miscellaneous parts from it.

Ohhh....Nawssss!! :chuckles:

Actually it is #10 on the list in San Fransisco...any car is easy to steal if you know what you are doing. It is a matter if there is a demand for the parts if they take it to a chop shop.

:werd: if someone is determined enough to steal it, then chances are they will be successful. Just do your part, an alarm system is a MUST in my opinion, it should be the first thing you do after getting the car.
Another good thing to have is a kill switch, most modern alarm systems come with one built in so that once the alarm is tripped it kills the ignition. The noise that the alarm makes alone is useless, most people tend to ignore it due to the fact that most times when it goes off its usually the owner themself or just some passer by that caused it.

For me a Celica wouldn't be high up on my list of car for a "joy ride".

alright i know im gonna get burned for this but what the hell is the tow truck method.
Person drives up with a tow truck and tow your car. They don't need to break in or anything just tow it away.

the tow trucks with the cranes are the best... just take it to your local chop shop with no unwanted damage :wiggle:

mine has a nice key chain with a cupple of buttons and a toyota symbol... they gave it to me with the car, and it makes a really annoying sound when i open the trunk or passenger door and the red light is blinking... then again, i wasn't the first owner.

What about the AutoLock and a Kill switch? U can't steal the car without a tow truck... And if they do steal it (which they can't), u get $5'000 from the AutoLock company..

If somone wants your car they will take it. Only thing you can do is lock in in a cage, even then they'll probably steal the cage with the car if they want it enough. Only reason I have an alarm is so I know if my car is being vandalized at night. I know if someone wants to steal they will.

ME:
Under certain conditions, a car cannot be taken easily. This would be your car parked in your driveway, you sitting on your porch with a .45 in a holster. If however they show up with more guns that's a different story. You better have a few buds with shotguns or assault rifles.

Oh, and you ask, "What if they wait till when you are not staring obsessively at your bootyful car." You hear your remote pager alarm go off, and casually **** your HK USP as you move out the door. Tow-truck people in the process might come across a high-powered anti-theft device.

OR you can remove or mutilate your tow hooks if you are paranoid, and are willing to push your car for miles should ever you need help haha. To guard from the ghetto hook job through rims, get rims that are extremely hard to fit the tow truck hooks through (no easy 5 spoke wheels).

If a car owner really doesn't want his car stolen, he can make sure it doesn't get stolen through disciplined measures that match the threat level.

1. Always use the top-end pager alarm system.
2. Never park your car out of range.
If there are exceptions, leave your car at home.
If you have no other car at home that you can use,
bum a ride off of a friend.
If you have no friends to bum rides off of, take the bus.
3. When your car is at home, always park it in a garage, and
make sure the garage is locked.
4. Make sure all the doors and entrypoints to your house are secured.
5. Get a German Shepherd and train it. Heck get another one.
6. If you have the dough, install an alarm system, and get a expert security
consultant to advise you on the important details, for example, certain safe
zones that need creating or doors/areas that need reinforcing.
7. Buy a gun. Train with the gun. If you live with your family or have one, make
them buys guns if they want to and are old enough. Make them train.
Buy body armor plus the helmet and night vision goggles, so if you hear someone
breaking in at night, pop it on and dig in. Practice, and rehearse positions to take
for there not to be confusion if something should happen. This is why it's simpler
to live alone or with another person for at least this reason.

Everything listed is practical, within monetary reason, and effective.
You have to know the level of the threat you are up against. And if you're worried if your 10k car with 30k worth of mods will get stolen and stripped by a tow-truck team, then take the precautions.

Those who are prepared are not worried by statements such a thief being able to steal a car if he so desires.
