My alternator went out fix that everything runs good when I drive it about a mile down the road it starts spitting and sputtering and backfiring but other than that it runs good until it warms up then all hell breaks loose and it goes off then it's good as new until it warms up again
The ECU got reset & the fuel settings need to re-map. It will probably be worse if you have a CAI/SRI. It usually takes close to a tank of gas to get back to near normal fuel maps. What you are describing is happening when the ECU goes from Open Loop to Closed Loop.
If it keeps happening after ECU has been remapped, check your MAF sensor and clean it. I've had mine get dirty a couple of times and have experienced the same symptoms. If that doesn't work, you may have a clogged catalytic converter. That can also exhibit the symptoms you're describing.
