My iPod is loaded with music so I was thinking it would be cool to have it in my car. I am not sure if this can be done but I am going to look into and call up a few local stereo shops. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions let me know.

it definately can be done, you just need an input in your head unit.. or they make an attachment that sends it over an FM station

I have mine connected in my car using the aux input of my aftermarket headunit. With a factory deck you can easily use a cassette adapter or a FM transmitter.

If you want the clearest signal you'll want something that's connected directly to your I-Pod. Like Vaio and Ed said look for a headunit with an Aux input. Right now the easiest and prolly one of the cheapest is the Aiwa 504. It has a front mini-plug imput.

I actually ordered the Neo Ion from www.mp3yourcar.com and I am very happy with it. It was easy to install and the sound quality is really good. When I called to place the order they asked me if I could take pics of the install and put them on my personal web site and they would give me a good discount but my camera is busted. If any of you guys want to get a neo ion

Go direct to the head unit aux input and don't fool around with cassett adapters or FM if you want CD quality sound. Proclip makes a kick azz custom angled mount for the Celica with an IPOD specific mount that puts the pod in perfect position when your hand is on the shifter. Also I bought a Belkin Auto Kit, which powers the ipod all the time while in the car and also has a line out through the single dock connector. This give the best signal out of the ipod with no volume issues. I wired in a remote cigarette lighter adapter and put everything hidden under the center console. Only one wire to connect to perfect sound. The IPOD looks killer with the backlighting on all the time, especially at night. Avoid all the remote access kits that put control on the head unit unless you have a $1000 LCD screen setup as the ipod itself is a much better interface than most scrolling head unit screens. Most units also totally disable the ipod functions on the ipod itself when connected like the Alpine unit. Save the money and get a better setup.

I'm getting this done right now. I'm using PAC's AUX-POD which is great. I got it from http://www.jtaudioacc.com/ who helped out a bunch. I'll post pictures of the setup next week.

Cherokee is definitely right. The http://www.proclipusa.com/ mount is hella sweet, and the PAC system sits nicely behind the dash and the cable sticks out just under the mount.

I'll have pics here next week.

I am working on my own install right now. First of all I have a direct input into my aftermarket sony head unit. Belkin (I think) makes this product that plugs into the dock port on the bottom of the iPod and charges it while having a pre-amped headphone jack on the part that plugs into the cigarette lighter. What I am working on now is the base that will use the ashtray as the base and suspend the iPod next to the shifter. I will post pics when done.
