Im not a Celi owner....but i have some generic questions that maybe can get answered..

Im taking a stab that the newer toyota engines for the celicas (1zz and 2zz maybe? Dont jump down my throat on me if im wrong..im still trying to learn.)

Now do these engines use a coil on plug system?
If so, has anyone changed the coils?

I just purchased new high performance ignition coils for my car and I was wondering if anyone has either heard of Ignition solutions and/or had their products.

Any and all comments are appreciated..

I've changed plugs.. well actually I replaced them with the same denso iridiums...

Oh yeah and we don't have wires

Yep...no external coil, so no spark plug wires needed. Sometimes referred to as "Coil Packs"

There hasn't been any need to replace the coils on the 2zz yet with such a powerfull ignition system. There are no resistance from plug wires and no distributors to wear out. Iradium plugs also help due to the fact the electrodes are extremely small in diameter (It requires less voltage to create a spark). 13:1 comp ratio is not a problem for the stock 2zz ignition.

thanks guys....interesting ignition system on the 2zz with no wires. I guess ill have to get my head under the hood of a GTS celica sometime soon and check that out.

Im thinking about switching over to the denso iridiums some time soon but ill try the coils first and see how that works. I think the M5 ignition is rated at some 45000 volts so its pretty damn strong as is. Thanks though for the insight
