Does anyone know if my problem will be resolved if i do this mod?

I understand that if you just put your SRI or CAI on, and the CEL code 0171 comes up and your car is bogging, it will most likely be resolved if you do the mod.

My situation is a little bit different. I just bought my 2000 GTS about a month ago and all it had was a Injen CAI. No CEL but it did bog only when cold. Ran smoothly once the car warmed up. Just about a week ago, the CEL came up and i pulled up the code 0171. So will my CEL be fixed if i do the bbmod, or is this a different issue, since the CAI has been on for a while but the CEL just came on recently?

Hope someone can help
 
Sounds like the same issue i have pnguyen. I have been running my injen CAI for about a couple of months now and i throw the same CEL code. I can take it to advanced and get the code cleared and it stays cleared for like a week before coming back on so yes it is the same problem in my opinion. I just ordered an ebay SRI and im gonna put my injen filter on it to see if im still throwing the code, if i am i got a guy thats gonna sell my a BB mod that i know will fix the problem. Word of advice by the way, if you stay in someplace that rains a good bit (basically anywhere outside the midwest) i would switch to a SRI. I been lucky so far (bout waterlocked my motor on two seperate occasions) so i say rather be safe than sorry.

From what i hear its more of an Injen intake problem. I heard they like to throw codes on our cars

pushing down on the pedal and not going anywhere would be hesitation
bogging is the same but it feels like the engine is trying to go but it can't
 
Hey guys, I'm about to get a CAI for my gt-s, i was either going with an aem or injen. I used to have a gt a couple yrs ago with a aem cai with no problems, but was thinking to add the bypass valve just in case. Im just wondering how much hp would be lost with the bypass valve.
 
Bypass is useless.

Hi guys,

I just ordered an injen CAI (the black version :D) for my 03 GTS, and I am considering doing this mod from the get-go while initially installing it for the sake of simplicity, convenience and the positive results everyone seems to be getting. Do you think this is a good choice? Any drawbacks from doing this mod in the dark? I am doubting that it would in any way be a drawback to the install...
 
hey does anyone know if the ram k&n has this same issue with the bogging
id be interested in knowing this too. I was looking at the K&N typhoon intakes and wondered if anyone was running this intake? and if so if they ran into any problems

ok its a p0441, which is a EVAP Emission control system purge flow fault. I have no idea what that means, do u guys have any ideas what would be wrong with my install to set that off, cuz i got that code with my injen SRI also, and i need to get it fixed!!!!!!
if this isn't resolve yet I had the same issue my fix was changing out my gas cap and it works. It had some similar issue with the tundra and their gas cap so their fix was to replace the gas cap which work. I been driving for 3 month since the CEL and no CEL have yet to return. :D
 
So... the rubber hose for the stock airbox (step 7) is not mentioned in the parts (or maybe it's understood that it's part of the stock assembly). Hence a question - can you do this mod if you don't have this rubber hose? Is there anything that can be used in its place?

I would also like to know if there can be alternatives if missing the stock airbox cover...:(

I do have the rubber hose, but can't find the top part of my airbox for some reason
