I got this strange problem right now, and at a time when a functioning pump is essential (damn winter slush).

For some reason, my windshield washer pump doesn't work. When I flip the switch, the wipers are activated, but I can't hear the pump run.

I checked everything I could:
- nothing else is faulty, only the pump is affected.
- the washer and wiper fuses are fine.
- the tubes aren't pinched anywhere.
- there is fluid in the reservoir.
- I changed the pump itself with a brand new OEM one, to no effect.
- I made sure that the connector to the pump is properly inserted.
- and the steering wheel stalk switch works, since it shows a continuity with the pump connector itself (ground good, but no power).

What on earth am I missing here? Any ideas?

I can't give any specific advice to this but just general electric trouble shooting. I would imagine there would be a relay somewhere maybe check that? Could also have someone activate the spray and check with voltmeter to make sure the connector to the pump is getting power.

could the washer fluid just be frozen.
No, can't be that.

As far as I understand the OEM electrical diagrams (I have the manual), there isn't a relay involved in that circuitry.

Could also have someone activate the spray and check with voltmeter to make sure the connector to the pump is getting power.
Did that. As stated in my first post, we tested continuity and found that the pump connector is properly grounded, but it isn't getting power when the switch is engaged.

Turns out this was a break in the harness between the switch and the junction connector.

Lovely...

And it didn't even have anything to do with the modifications I did in the past. Just some random break in the stock passenger side harness bundle.

i had a similar issue but mine was just clogged, i took off the tube before the nozzles and fluid came out so I took canned air and blasted it through, now it works.
