Finally made my way to the strip to see if Killerm's tq brace would live up to its purpose.

Before the tq brace I was running 15.6's consistantly
After the tq brace i ran a 15.5 on a crappy ass oilly track

Traction was minimal and wheel hop was horrible, but that was due to track conditions. On another track that is cleaner, and provides good traction, i could have probably gotten down to 15.3~15.1...I was litterally fighting for traction in first...nothing but spin :(

So, I must say that brace is def. worth 50$, an the vibrations.

Thats Killerm's Engine TQ brace...
It doesn't bang against the engine at all.
So far, the only adverse effects are a slight vibration at low RPM
Here is a picture of it after I installed it. In that picture it is against the engine, but it can be adjusted so that there is a space between the brace and engine.

only "adverse affect" that i can tell is that the car idles a little rougher....not enough to really matter though. The car seems to respond very well to this mod. Look in the For Sale forum for info/pics. There are also tons of reviews floating around in the Performance Mods forum about this mod.

so that looks like its on the one side of the engine .. .. I could just be foolish and not be looking at it right .. so does there not need to be one on the other side of the engine ?

Yes, the mount only fits on one side. The engine stays still quite well with just the one brace. If you require an even stiffer ride the brace and Bills engine mount make a great combo.

With the brace installed you will have quicker throttle response, smoother shifting, less engine bog under hard cornering, and still retain the normal driving characteristics of the Celica. The only drawback is the low level gear whine and the vibration at idle, which both are very small and tolerable to most people.

I'll be taking my car up to the track next wednesday. I'm sure I'll have good results, but of course I just installed my Trial Header, so it's not a fair comparison. :D
