Wonder how the ones for a TRD spoiler lift a hatch with standard spoiler? Mine lifts itself from just under 1/2 opened. I imagine it would pretty much just open itself from almost closed and then probably be too hard to close.

I have the stronger struts and since I took my spoiler off, my hatch practically jumps up to the top as soon as you unlatch it. It's amazing...

regardless, I think everyone should order the pair meant for the TRD spoiler unless you've got a wingless CF trunk.
a self opening hatch is a pretty novel thing.

I just replaced mine with the liftsupportdepot.com ones, I got em on ebay hella cheap (if you order on the website they cost more then if you buy from their ebay name and you pay on the same page anyways) I got a standard spoiler and bought the TRD spoiler shocks and my hatch opens itself, I just hit the door handle and it pops right up....it is a little hard to close my mom and sister who are super small can barely reach it lol so they especially have problems with it...I personally thought it was a little tough to close at first but frankly now it's not that bad especially after a couple days to break in...I've had them a couple weeks and I don't even think it's an issue anymore I've probably just gotten used to closing it basically. Super easy to put on and if it ever comes time to replace them it will also be super easy because of the design unlike the Toyota ones which were easy enough but just kind of a hassle...I would buy again from liftsupportdepot.com it seems to be where most people have had the most luck...although frankly they just sell strong arm products so overall it's most important to get that brand probably not that important where you buy them minus the price and assuming you're sure of their reputation...good luck!
