Hey Matt - this doesn't require that the bore be resized or rehoned does it?monkeywrench said:

The clearance on the block we built for our shop car was perfect. No honing should be required.Boosted2.0 said:Hey Matt - this doesn't require that the bore be resized or rehoned does it?
also been reading that post on elisetalk, but as I understand it (and assume you too) the 2zz can't be bored oversize thought that would include honing as that would mean to scratch the liner.Boosted2.0 said:Hey Matt - this doesn't require that the bore be resized or rehoned does it?
Yup - that wa smy thought - theres 0 variation in 2ZZ bore size from the factory which is why theres only one size for the stock replacement pistons - I would hope the new pistons would fit assuming there is no more damage. If they don't that would kind of ruin the experience for me.Black_TRD said:also been reading that post on elisetalk, but as I understand it (and assume you too) the 2zz can't be bored oversize thought that would include honing as that would mean to scratch the liner.Boosted2.0 said:Hey Matt - this doesn't require that the bore be resized or rehoned does it?
Oh - I thought you guys were running the wisecos in your shop car?monkeywrench said:The clearance on the block we built for our shop car was perfect. No honing should be required.Boosted2.0 said:Hey Matt - this doesn't require that the bore be resized or rehoned does it?
Nope. Was stock, now is Mahle.Boosted2.0 said:Oh - I thought you guys were running the wisecos in your shop car?
It's "mild"malice said:What other internals did you folks drop in with the mahle pistons?
If you're going to supercharge a 12.3:1 motor you better plan on running race gas or straight alcohol 24/7.240MAX said:I like to install a S/C in the car but I love N/A power....if I install the MAHLE piston 12.3:1 and I put a month later the S/C ... if I compare to the oem piston with the mahle psiton....will I have a big difference beteween 11.5:1 S/C and 12.3:1 S/C?? can I lose some big power with the mahle piston and S/C.....sorry for my english. tank for all info guy s
Stick with stock pistons for 260whp.Bowlerer said:how much would it cost to get a set in 10:1? i think the 2.5 drop is too much for the 2zz (im not planning to go past 260whp either)
You won't lose power but I would think detonation would be an issue without race gas.240MAX said:I like to install a S/C in the car but I love N/A power....if I install the MAHLE piston 12.3:1 and I put a month later the S/C ... if I compare to the oem piston with the mahle psiton....will I have a big difference beteween 11.5:1 S/C and 12.3:1 S/C?? can I lose some big power with the mahle piston and S/C.....sorry for my english. tank for all info guy s
For a blower making under 250whp I'd recommend stock pistons.elcelicagts said:hey matt,
i remmember you telling me of a nice stroker kit i think 10:1 or something that would be nice with a charger.
would these Mahle Pistons for stock bore liner on 2zz Available in 9.0:1 compression for those with turbochargers, superchargers, or nitrous and be a nice alternative to get instead of the stroker ?
i would just buy these pistons, and swap them out with the oem one's right?
nah 23000 KM is nothing - its barely just broke in - you should be finenikos said:So these Mahle pistons are plug n play? regarding that my engine has 23000km should I have a problem.
Thanks boosted for your advises.Always very helpfull.I just noticed that you are having a st185 3sgte.Of topic. My best friend has a sameone he has 250.000 and he likes to buy a new ragiator(koyo...etc)and a new flange to increase the compression regarding that we don't know how much the standard is.What are you suggesting and from where can we order them?Boosted2.0 said:nah 23000 KM is nothing - its barely just broke in - you should be fine
