hey i took off my valve cover to get polished.. do i HAVE to get a new gasket? will it leak if i use the original one thats on there? the toyota dealership is charging me 30 bux which sounds ridiculusly high for some rubber.

If the gasket looks ok, then it`s probably ok to reuse it.
The worst that can happen is you will have to remover the valve cover again to install a new gasket if the old one leaks.
Just be sure to monitor it closely a first to detect any leaks.

Personally, I would install a new one if in doubt about the serviceability of the old one.

good point.. well i'll try the original one on for a few days and if it leaks i'll buy a new one.. thanks! but yah... the gasket looks like its still in great condition.. so yah

oh koo rednos you left your stock gasket on there? alright then.. i just dont want those o-rings around the spark plugs to leak oil and have oil go into my cylinders when i pull the plugs. thanks for the help guys.
