My 02 + 04 T-Sport

Hello NC,

Because I'm browsing on this website daily it's time for me to introduce myself.

I'm Vincent from the Netherlands, I'm in my final year of my master studies in aerospace engineering and in my spare time I work at a Toyota dealership. Because my father has been driving Toyotas since the eighties I've been a Toyota fan all my life. My father drove several Celicas (all T18 model) and is now driving a Lexus IS (still a Toyota in my eyes).

In march I came across a Celica T-Sport (similar to a manual GT-S with climate control), which had low milage (64000miles) for his age (2002) and was in great condition in Carbon Blue. It was bone stock, the only option was the Dynamic front lip:

Than the modest modding started, first thing I did was dropped it using KYB AGX shocks and Eibach springs. To be honest I expected more drop. However the roads in the Netherlands are filled with high speed bumps and even though I really want to drop it more I won't as the Celica is my daily driver.

Then I added new rims, OZ Superturismo LM 17":

Furthermore, using information found on NC, I polished and painted my headlights:

Some small modifications followed:

-Painted the logo in the front bumper black using Plasti Dip
-TRD logo on the steering wheel
-Changed the gear shift knob for a Toyota Avensis one
-Blitz SUS LM SRI
-APR front strut bar
-Short antenna
-Tinted the rear foglights
-Tinted side blinkers to match the dark head lights
-Facelift rear lights

Thanks guys, really appreciate it!

@Thomas:

Yes, it was about time to introduce me here. Been browsing this site almost daily since I have the Celica, so since March 2012

@Littleguy:

The overall condition is very good. However up close you can see it's 10 year old, it has markings of stone chips on the front bumper and hood. However as I'll be driving this car on the highway every day for the coming next months I'll just leave it as is. Also painting the nose of the car is to expensive for now..

Simple but unique was exactly what I was aiming for, thanks!

You can find the spoiler on eBay.co.uk, just convince the seller that he should ship it to the states.

Update time!

Fitted some TTE (Toyota Team Europe) 17" wheels with winter wheels for more grip during the cold. Bough them second handed (they have some damaged from curbs. I've 'painted' them with Plasti Dip Metalizer:

Furthermore I've fabricated a custom head shield from the stock air box. The bottom halve is used for 90% (had to cut parts from the front and back to fit the filter). I've only used a small piece of the top part to channel the air to the filter (not sure if it works but it looks better than just the bottom part). Also removed a small piece of the engine plastics so more air can reach the filter.

Not sure if it really helps performance wise (although hotter air from the engine and radiator is more or less shielded of). It looks a lot better cosmetic wise. I hated the look of all the wires etc surrounding the SRI.

Thanks guys! When my Celica budget is restored I might get a coil over set but the wing stays! And yes, the dark wheels really suit the carbon blue color. I'm thinking of painting my OZ summer wheels in the same color.

Using the stock air box as a heat shield has a big advantage! It acts like a amplifier for the intake noise. It now really sounds awesome!

Well, shows what I know about it, LOL. I didn't know only the U.K. was right hand. I thought some parts of Europe were too.
