I am going up the walls with this. I bought a 2000 Celica GT-S from a dealer who did not have a keyless remote fob for the vehicle. So I ran the check to see if the vehicle has the system and it does. I then purchased a replacement remote from an eBay seller who thought his was the right model (GQ43V14T). After several attempts it did not program.

So I'm hoping someone here does know the correct FCC ID# or part number for a factory installed (I did check the VIN and it was not a dealer installed system) keyless entry system. Two dealerships I called claim they do not have this information to share with me and I'd rather not pay their $137 price tag when I can get these units online for less than $20.

Thanks!

Hmmm, I found this elsewhere on the web at the same time of your reply:
"after digging all over the internet i found a downloadable copy of the repair manual for my car. in it i found where the keyless module is located. you will have to take off the plastic panel in your trunk on the drivers side, under it above the driver wheel is where the keyless module is located."
But when I popped off that little panel over the drivers side wheel well all I could find was the jack.

What am I missing? Is it obvious? I'll bet it's obvious. :chuckles:

If you happen to find the receiver, can you post up some pics of it please? I'm curious as to what it looks like and how it's located.

I've spent the past 1.5 hours tearing apart the inside of my car to find this mythical receiver and I still have had no luck. I'm telling you, I can't imagine a more inefficient way to build a car so that identifying a replacement remote is almost impossible.

The driver's side rear seat interior panel is off and I still can't find it. I even took pictures with my phone behind the metal frame:

I believe you should've seen it in the 2nd pic.

Do you have an LED on the left side of dash labeled "SECURITY"?

Yes, I have that LED on the left side of the dash that illuminates when I turn the key to enable the system. I also called the dealership and although they would not give me the FCC ID number, they did confirm that my VIN number was one of the cars that had a factory-installed keyless entry.

But I just tore the car apart earlier today and looked where it's supposed to be in that diagram and I couldn't find anything.

You probably won't. You probably have the TVIP system for non-keyless entry. Which means the keyless entry module is part of the security system. Look under the dash above the accelerator pedal.

I did that, as well, and took some pictures. Still can't find that box.

Post pic, plz.

who thought his was the right model (GQ43V14T).
FYI, for the vanilla keyless entry, he was correct. If you have a TVIP RS3200, then the ID you need is BAB237131-056. If its aftermarket (the pic of LED will tell us), then you need to find the box/brain.

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't aftermarket. The holes underneath the LED are for the Glass Break Detector sensor.

There are several versions of OEM alarms. However, between them was always whether the car originally had keyless entry. If it didn't, it had to get a version with keyless entry included.

The install info for these are in the Stickies.
