So I decided to try and check my valve clearances on my 2000 gt. Pulled off the valve cover, no problem. Nice and clean. Saw the lobes, timing chain, etc. Where are the valves? Oh, that little glimpse of spring I see under the cams... How the f are you supposed to check between the roller bearing and the cam when you can't see anything. Same goes for the checking the shim clearance...
(sigh) I guess I'll just pay toyota to check the clearances. I tried sliding the angled feeler gauges in there...but didn't know what I was feeling... O well.

Yeh...I tried to follow that guide. I just don't see how you can know what the feeler gauge is checking. I mean I can't see anything except for the two camshafts and a little bit of the valve spring.
