I was looking through the guide on how to stop the whine/noise from the alternator using the mod on the radio adapter but I couldn't figure out what resistor to use. Hoping someone could clarify it for me because I don't understand too much of the electrical terminology.

The radio I have is this one:http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=CDXF5710&LOC=3#/howtoTab

Specs I found say: "Preamp Voltage 2 volts". So, that, along with the specific harness you're using, will determine the resistor value.

I'll be using the recommended BHA8113 so according to the guide just to double check I should be using the 620ohms resistor (since there's no 633), correct?

Thanks!

"8v: 36 ohms =150mv / 48 ohms =200mv / 61 ohms =250mv / 126 ohms =500mv / 271 ohms =1volt

5v: 60 ohms =150mv / 79 ohms =200mv / 100 ohms =250mv / 211 ohms =500mv / 475 ohms =1volt

4v: 74 ohms =150mv / 100 ohms =200mv / 127 ohms =250mv / 271 ohms =500mv / 634ohm =1volt

2v: 154 ohms =150mv / 211 ohms =200mv / 271 ohms =250mv / 633 ohms =500mv / 1.9k =1volt

1.8v: 173 ohms =150mv / 237 ohms =200mv / 306 ohms =250mv / 731 ohms =500mv / 2.4k =1volt

620 or 680, yep. That's where to start.
