but i was looking around on other car forums and i ran into a tiburon site. www.newtiburon.com while i was there i figured to see what times they run etc. you always here with i/h/e a tiburon is a beast etc. i know that they take F/I very well,but i was curious in seeing what an NA tiburon can do. there is a guy with a 04 6 speed with every bolt on possible plus ecu upgrades. cams is the only thing that he doesnt have. his best run of the night i believe was a 14.5x ish. then you scroll down and see other threads in how i/e tibby`s are beaten type s/gts`s with no problems. lol i`m not hear to start anything, but i curious if any one has seen a tiburon run any decent track times?

Why don't you take a look at the Celicas 1/4 times for a stock gt-s and then the i/h/e + power fc times..

lol 14.5 completely bolted on, what a nice v6 motor

i ran 14.4 with intake exhaust and pfc.

im gunna go down there tonight maybe, hopefully do better, got a trd clutch and fidanza flywheel

Wait..your question wasn't about our times.. so why are you here?...

Just personal experience they're not that fast. I got walked by a v6 tib and I'm only a GT and had a slipping clutch..

Weak for a v6.

they are weak for a v6...reason you dont see cams for them is because they cost like 1200 for cams...My buddy owned one that we tried to make fast...needless to say it was a lost cause

I owned an 04 Special Edition Tib, nice car. Fun to drive, sounds very good with an Intake and Borla exhaust, better than the GTS we just bought. But no way in hell is can that car run with the GTS, mod for mod. Stock the car is slow and feels slow. I loved the look of the car though, but the motor is a dog for a 6. My wifes Mazda6 with the 6 cyclinder had more balls than my Tib did.

I do think I liked the look better though.

The owners in the Tiburon forum were beating auto GT-Ss, that's why.

lol well atleast you guys tried. i`m trying to see if any na tiburon`s broke into the 13`s yet.

Is not that they are monsters with i/h/e, is just that those cars are very restricted from the factory and with those mods they feel a lot diferent that a stock one. My cousin has a 2005 V6 Tibby and the exhaust system has 3 cats, he put a catless exhaust system, i/h and the car is a lot faster than stock.

3 cats, I had 4 on my Mustang, but now I have 0. Helps out some.

i know the super street magazine did one up with some mods and they dogged it hardcore and pretty much said it was a waste of money, in my terms the Hyundai symbol is to slanted for the japanease people read compared to the honda symbol so y try, i like my japanese market not the korean market, to me the tiburon is like the ghetto version of the supra, even in the past hyundai looked like they took certain traits from toyotas and mustangs and put them in there cars with a little change here n there like for instance so you could call a tiburon a

Nice comparison. I never thought about the 3rd gen Tibby having a resemblance with a Supra, but it does look like it.

The 4th gen concept looks to have stolen the designs over several other cars too: RSX, SRT-4 Neon, Celica, RX-8.....

EDIT: I was pretty sure there was a thread about the new gen Tibby concept in the "Other Cars" forums, but I can't find it. I was also sure that there were more than 3 pages in that forum too. :shrugs:

Tibbys are a nice looking car, and the acceleration feels nice, but in the long run I don't think they can hang. They make the celica seem like a luxury car by comparison.
