Sorry the many threads I've been making, but I recently purchased my 2nd Celica GTS. it has 209k miles and runs pretty good, however I spun a bearing on my first Celica GTS at 155k miles (I beat on that car A LOT). But I was wondering if it's worth doing preemptive Rod Bearing replacement? Maybe with some MWR ones? Opinions on doing this? I'd do it with the engine in the car. Just drop the oil pan and try my best to do it underneath.

My experience, FWIW, is that the main bearings wear & cause a loss of oil to the rod bearings. Spinning a rod bearing was my symptom. But, not the cause.

In my experience it won't hurt to have a look. I did so on my old engine a year ago, everything looked good after years of abuse. On the other engine I hydrolocked two years ago I did a check and one bearing needed replacing so I did that. The no.4 will give you the most headache to reach the upper bearing as space is tight.
